Before first use:
- Enjoy unboxing your new purchase! (Be sure to remove the labels and packaging first.)
- Wash your Le Creuset product in hot water with dishwashing liquid, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
Kitchen
- Protect yourself – Always use oven mitts when handling any hot cooking utensil.
- We recommend that you only use Le Creuset accessories made of silicone, wood or heat-resistant plastic. DO NOT use metal knives or utensils, as this may mark or scratch the enameled cast iron coating of your product.
- Use the most appropriate size hob for your product. This will allow you to obtain more even cooking and avoid damaging the handles and walls. This note is particularly relevant for induction hobs: if you use the wrong hob, the hob may not “recognize” the product.
- Cooking over medium or low heat works best, even for browning or searing your ingredients. Let the pan heat up gradually to intensify flavors and achieve even cooking. If you must use high heat, lower the setting once the desired heat is reached.
- Never slide the product across a glass hob/worktop as this may damage the base of the utensil and scratch the glass. It is best to always lift your utensil when placing, removing or moving it.
Cleaning
- Allow your product to cool before cleaning.
- Wipe up any spills on the base and walls of the product. If your food has stuck on, fill the product with warm water and dishwashing liquid and let it soak for 15 to 20 minutes before washing as usual.
- Do not use abrasive or metal-coated sponges or hard-bristled scrubbing brushes on any surface of your product.
- Then dry it well and store it in a dry place.
